A quick peek at our last conversation with award-winning photographer, Christian Lutz. Lutz’s fascination with the invisible machinations of powers have taken him from the discreet, subtle worlds of diplomacy—to the inner workings of a Senegalese religious brotherhood—and now to the Niger Delta, the heart of the violence that surrounds the Nigerian oil industry.
Over the course of three years, Geneva based photographer, Christian Lutz travelled with the Swiss diplomatic corp in an official capacity. His own ambiguous relationship to power (“part attraction, part repulsion”) reflected through the camera lens captured a dimension of diplomacy he calls “political theater”.
